I’ve always liked APC mens clothes. It’s one of the few brands that shows best the mediterranean spirit in their collections. Jean Touitou’s Tunisian origins must be a tremendous inspiration and it is something that I value a lot.

I find this djellabah t-shirt defines well the mediterranean identity today, it’s the meeting point of two cultures: the western world and the arabic world; north and south, dressed up and laid-back. Fit, well designed,100% washed denim, the t-shirt distinctive djellabah neckline is definitely a plus.

Sixpack is a brand we have been following for quite a while in the Truck, in other words it is one of our favourite French brand. Through the years their collections have expanded to something more complete. Of course they still excel in what made them successful: graphic t-shirts designed by graphic artists. For spring-summer 2012, Sixpack releases a t-shirt series in collab with Jean Widmer, a mythic graphic designer considered as a master in designing a graphical identity. Among other things, he is famous for redesigning all French roadsigns and plublic places signs, and also the centre Pompidou’s visual identity.

This “capsule” comes along with their SS12 collection. It is composed by three t-shirts which graphics are a good representation of Widmer’s style: multiple plain geometrical shapes finally creating a harmonious rendering. “Fonctions utiles” is the only existing one of the three, it was originally made for the Centre de Creation Industielle (Industrial creation center) of Paris, in 1969. The two others called “Grid” and “France is color” are especially created by the end of Jean Widmer for this collab, showing how unimpaired is his stamp.

How cool are these t-shirt! Definitely made to be matched with chinos, a light jacket on your shoulders while walking on the seaside an ice cream in hand! (It looks like I want to go to the sea these times :p). The three of them can be found at Sixpack online shop for €45. “Call option on the France is color!”

I recently came across this website I did not know, it is called Scotts. You might think it is a bit weird, but I systematically dig from top to bottom any recently discovered shop. Among their whole range was this cool t-shirt on the Scotts website from Duffer of St George. An Indonesian friend of mine once came back from holidays in its country wearing a Mickey t-shirt. I firstly thought it was very lame, the kind of piece in your wardrobe you are ashamed of. But as he was wearing it simply and nicely, the idea was not so bad, on the contrary! After several tries of buying it from him (he always refused), I have tirelessly looked for this t-shirt he bought for a few pennies in a random market in Jakarta. The guy just lost its t-shirt, and I finally came across a similar one (it is now his turn to be jealous). I was talking about the best match for it: a pair of stylish mens chinos and a shawl collar cardigan, simple as ever!

Guys lurking on Endclothing must have spotted this new brand for few weeks now. The others might find it interesting. Tantum LA creates particular pieces with patterned pockets. Shits, sweaters, tees all feature a pocket with a cool african, camo, leopard, navajo or patchwork pattern. The quirkiest of them even show birds! I just came across this Obey t-shirt with a cool graphic. Totally in phase with the brand’s identity, it refers to the 1989 Berlin Wall’s fall, tallying with the communism end of propaganda widely used at that time. The terms used in the tee are quite violent, and so the Fall was. Did André the Giant, flocked on the communist star, take part in all this story? Let me have a doubt on this… :p

German clothes are on a roll and Saint Noir is probably one of their best standard bearer. Based on a project created in 2010, Saint Noir is a new label launched in Berlin by two friends : Matt and Tom. Highly passionate about design, music, art and fashion, the two of them naturally pictured their first t-shirt collection. They made a point of offering original and handmade products which make them unique and so special. Their first three t-shirts look awesome but I truly love the « Music or die » one. It is 100% made by hand – with supporting evidence on YouTube – and easy to match with a black cardigan. Now all you’ve got to do is give ground to the rockstar in you.

Just found a tee which I totally fell in love with. What an unusual refreshing color evoking summer ! This “mustard” tee comes with a beacon graphic insipring authentism. I if may add a personal opinion, I would advise to match such a color with darker bottoms ;)

I just found out about a quite recent brand : Ashley Marc Hovelle. An occasion to introduce them to you. The brand is established since 2009 and first launched an iconic t-shirt in memory of Michael Jackson (which you can find on the website below). Insipired by retro fashion, the collection only comprises tops. This “Nautical” one strongly appealed me with its pale lightblue color and a cool anchor logo… ideal for the summer.
