Ray Ban for Men

Ray Ban Wayfarer II

by Yas the Super Fly in Selected (on August 19, 2010)

Ray Ban on the spot again! The famous brand came up with a new two-tone update of the iconic Wayfarer sunglasses. The Wayfarer II has detailed features like a metal signature logo on each sculpted temple. The color combination is particularly enhancing the iconic contoured shape, and the grey faded (crystal) lenses keeps the unmistakable Wayfarer ahead of contemporary fashion! I personally have some aviators (will introduce them shortly), but I’m pleased to switch them with the Wayfarer II from time to time :p Let me know what you think!

Men’s sunglasses: trends for 2008

by Joe the "tire-remover" in Themes (on April 22, 2008)

Let’s start with a non-trendy style, as it never goes out of fashion: the aviator, which has been present in every new collection since it was created by Ray Ban in 1936. This basic has once again formed the inspiration for many fashion houses (Dior, Cavalli, Tom Ford…) and designers (Berryl, Porsche Design…).

The main trend at the moment is without a doubt vintage. Ray Ban’s other bestseller, the Wayfarer, a 50’s model, was very popular last year, and this success continues this season.

This vintage trend also includes styles from the 60s, 70s and 80s. My favourites: The seventies revival with streamlined and chunky shapes. I love it! This year, there are more square, geometric styles.

But the most noticeable thing this season is the return of colour! If you like the 80s, you’ll be in your element: Bright colours and large frames are back with a vengeance! White, yellow, red or green, the emphasis is on fun!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll invite you to discover a selection of sunglasses from these different styles. A range that, I hope, will turn you into shades experts, if you aren’t already ;-)

Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses

by Joe the "tire-remover" in Selected (on April 24, 2007)

ray-ban-aviator-sunglasses

Is it time to break out the Ray Ban Aviators? This cult style, designed in 1936 for the American army’s fighter pilots, and immortalised on the silver screen by Tom Cruise at his young, good looking and arrogant best in Top Gun, Aviators are really top-drawer stuff. The frames are available in gold or silver, the lenses are mirrored with Ray-Ban engraved on the side. It’s all a bit showy, but it’s soooo eighties
