Definitely THE collab you have to get quickly for this summer, even more if you are a sneakers collector. For may 2012 Kenzo teams up with Vans to rework the iconic Era in a Japanese flavour. The two creative directors from Kenzo, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim ware originally both fans of the californian skateboarding brand. The have dressed up the Era with a net print in a wild as colorful way! Seven colorways are available, four based on a blue, green, red, white plain design and three based on a bitone one, which is finally classic for the Vans Era. Following this first collaboration Vans and Kenzo are going to release two additional more capsule collections: one to be released in june, and the other in july.

By that time, all pairs from this magnifiscent collab would certainly be sold out. So you’d better act quickly going at your nearest Kenzo store or at Kenzo official website. Price: €90.

Here is a collab I am pretty excited to introduce to you. Let us present this collaborative pair of jeans between two great denim brands: – Momotaro (which name comes from a folk Japanese hero), one of the most greatest jeaners of the world coming from Okayama, Mecca of denim – And Naked & Famous who needs no introduction here (but still few words :x), a Canadian brand also making great jeans, with innovative cuts and a strong image (packaging recalls 50′s pop art). Then, Japan and Canada team up here for an exclusive pair of jeans. First released for autumn-winter 2010, 80′s Purple has just received a few restock, hence this article.

Such a trousers has to be perfect, and they are with a rope dyed 14.5oz indigo selvedge denim construction all made from an authentic, vintage American Machine in Okayama, Japan (including the famous Union Special 43200G bulldog chain-stitching machine). Copper buttons and rivets are marked by Momotaro and the patch features a special double logo representing the collab. Icing on the cake is actually printed on the pockets with the Rising sun an the Leaf on each.

The cut, actually based the “skinnyguy” from N&F has slim/skinny legs with a regular rise. Denim used on the collab is a new Sanforized denim specifically made for it, then the jeans won’t shrink much when/if washed. I have heard that this fabric has excellent fading properties… it must worth the try!

YMC offers us a magnificent collab with Gloverall. How could such brands have given us something crappy? Here’s the thing, they couldn’t, and they didn’t! This jacket represents how talented is Gloverall in producing quality outerwear, and shows us YMC skills in designing original pieces. Then we’ve got marks from both of them giving the jacket an awesome “look and feel” : I mean the shawl collar mixed with the classic Gloverall wooden fastening. In short, we’re really crazy about this crazy collab :p

In 2008, Adidas and Diesel collaborated for a denim collection. This season, they’re doing it again renewing 3 Adidas classics sneakers : the Forum Mid, the Stan Smith and the ZX700, all revisited by Diesel designers. Our favourite is the timeless Stan Smith, in a customized punk version with denim rivets and metal studs. The collection will be available on the 27th of February on your nearest Diesel store.
