Spring is coming
Winter has been going on for too long, we’ll all agree with that. We’d gladly welcome Spring now. Kind of a delight at the onset of sunny days is to get on a scooter, going for a ride in Paris, chilling at a café’s terrace, looking at girls walking, then looking for a new sunny spot before sun goes down… Like a leaf driven by the wind to join you friends for a picnic Jardin des Tuileries, around Palais Royal, where you can stay late in the night and find the girls you stared the whole day. Paris is a small city.
“Ne’er cast a clout ’til May is out!” must be the favorite proverb of moms, just ranked before “It’s better to be alone than in bad company”, but there is a reason. Easy to get caught on a breeze this period of the year, so let’s keep the tweed jacket to protect from the Spring cold. The one that leaving you bed-ridden as your friends collect one night stands.
My indicator for Spring is when I can wear shoes barefoot without getting cold feet. What a pleasure. And if I can also wear a “marinière” (breton top), the feeling is like going off on a jaunt to the seaside as I only walked along the Bassin de l’Arsenal (though it may sound like holidays for many). For you don’t need to rush on the Normandie coast to enjoy the wind blowing your hair and the sensation of the sand beyond your feets.
