Royalties: made in France socks
Hidden at the far end of Capsule Paris’ ground floor, Royalties, a brand launched in 2010, was brightening the suroundings up with their colorful socks :
For far too long socks have been formal, plain, then the founders wished to create chic and colored items. Bright-colored socks aren’t necessarily for bad tastes people, on the contrary. From their two factories located in Limoges (held by the same family since 1938) and in Romilly-sur-Seine, birthplace of French hosiery (where twists are crafted by a hosier’s son), they create patterned socks with innovative materials and in a preppy, quirky style. All this is made continuing the French savoir-faire.
Having felt the AW12 collection in my onw hands, I can say how remarkable is their work. Soft-touch stetch blended wools for comfort and silk cottons. Creators also told us that they develop any of their pattern by their own. The socks are rendering very nicely, we can easily say this is a success.
Pricing is 18€ by pair. Comfy, soft, nice, but a bit expensive… By this moment we could find them at the Galeries Lafayette Boulevard Haussman, in Paris, at Gomina (36 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Paris) then more stockist will come. Till then, you can find them visiting their website: www.royalties-paris.com
