Menlook launched this morning their mid-season sales. We’ve been used to enjoy this kind of promotional operation as an occasion to rebuilt our wardrobe with seasonal pieces discounted up to 60%! So, do not let our standards slip and let’s pick few key spring pieces among such good deals: shorts, chinos, t-shirts, a pair of sunglasses, sneakers of a nice pair of derbies… may these selections inspire you:
In last December we presented you the French accessory brand Leon Flam. The first collection was mainly composed of aviator inspired bags. Since then they widened the range with further poducts like this washbag totally matching with the “48H CROIX DU SUD” (the bag I was wearing in the look “The Green Door”). The case is made of the same thick cotton fabric and finished with brown leather yokes.
The inside is lined in nylon, which brings waterproofness. Manufacturing remains the same (France & Portugal) as the attention to quality and details making this bag a beautiful item to carry your toilet stuff. To put it into context, I have tried to inventory what I bring with me when travelling (without any volume or weight restriction): my razor, my clipper, my toothbrush, etc. Of course, the ideal would be having the matching bag.
Still in the same area we stayed during our trip in Lyon, at the bottom of the Gourguillon slope is a bistrot called “La Limonade de Marinette”, maybe helping wise climbers in search for a few refreshing drink to survive up to the top. This slope, as we said and said again, is a hell, so no need to dwell upon it anymore. La limonade de Marinette, she mades it by hand in the back of the shop herself! It is tasty: sweet as it should be, with a hint of lime, refreshing and soft on the tongue. The restaurant, or the bazaar/tuck shop brings us back to the 1950s. In a time when supermarkets were only at their early stage, when people were still paying in Vieux Francs, where they could find in the same place washing powder, toys, cans, dry sausages… After work I went to La Limonede de Marinette to dampen my craw.
You can’t think about Swiss watches without your attention drifting towards Montblanc and they haven’t achieved this Pavlov’s Dog type response through resting on their laurels – no, sir, they’ve established themselves as one of the world’s leading watchmakers by constantly innovating in terms of their designs and this type of innovation is something which you can bear witness to yourself with the, frankly spectacular, Montblanc TimeWalker World Time watch below.
This exceptional timepiece was recently showcased at the SIHH luxury watch event and expected to be released to the expectant public in around July this year and, safe to say, there is already a considerable queue forming for a timepiece of this calibre. Montblanc watches were founded in 1906 and have been responsible for some utterly astounding timepieces over the last century and the TimeWalker watch above shows how they don’t shy away from creating contemporary watches to complement their exceptional collection of more classical style timepieces.
The Montblanc TimeWalker World Time watch has a whole host of impressive features that make it stand out from the crowd including a 24-hour world time display showing the Southern Hemisphere as seen from the South Pole with the 24 time zones from each of the different cities, 42 hour power reserve, sapphire crystal glass case, 30m water resistance and triple folding clasp.
The purchase of a new pair of sneakers involves many feeling, much more than a simple mercantile relation between a man and the product standing in front of him, more than a manufacturing process, even though those Lanvin were perfectly made: ever hard-wearing Italian sole sewn to a subtle, soft suede upper, the whole handcrated in Italy. Their reputation precedes them: Lanvin may craft the sturdiest sneakers on the market, but I felt a deeper feeling when I finally grabbed my own pair:
Carefully crafted featuring a captivating dark navy suede and leather, these sneakers convey a strong sense of some effortless simplicity and modernity. Yet, they express much more inside. As the word simplicity means simple and modernity means modern, these Lanvin sneakers have something deep, soulful and extremely elegant. They just speak for themselves with less.
The suede texture and the color matches perfectly the captivating sleeky forefront of the shoe. The combination of all these features magnifies your feet giving them the right expression.
When standing and looking at them, the shoe design takes another dimension. Impressively dark, and shiny, your feet stand out like ready-to-fire missiles of a bunker.
By night, the moving light reflection brings out the all sexyness and charm, revealing their inner charisma, their time signature.
Wether you’re wearing denim jeans, chinos, or suits, slimfit or casual, these smart shoes match any bottom. They will embody your style like a second skin, giving you the right feeling, the right charisma.
