Men’s Fashion Spring-Summer 2007

Themes the 23 March 2007 by Joe the "tire-remover"

The first rays of spring sunshine have just brushed the corner of my screen, so let’s talk about the latest fashions for spring/summer 2007. You should first and foremost be aware that there is a degree of continuation with this winter’s fashions. So keep your skinny jeans, white shoes, “my father was a punk rocker” t-shirts and your stripy jumpers. Phew!

However, remember that this season’s must have is a pair of Bermuda shorts! Preferably worn short and straight. Of course it’s more comfortable than your ski gear for the summer, but also you will be able to make up a few different looks. The spirit of this season is casual, with a certain elegance. You could, for example, wear your Bermudas with a light linen jacket. Dress it up with a beige jacket to give it a breath of holiday fresh air (like the Diesel one above) or try a schoolboy blazer (AC/DC style!).

The second big trend this summer is the cardigan! Your cardigan can be fitted, even skin tight (see Bill Tornade) or a bit looser in layers (see Aem’Kai). For your feet, you’ll be best off in canvas tennis shoes or big trainers like Stan Smiths! And when the sun comes out, get out your espadrilles (see Pepe Jeans). Accessories-wise, retro sunglasses and vintage-style shouder bags will be in (I’ll fnd you some examples over the next few days).

And generally the colours to wear this summer will be white, beige, and maybe even flourescent! Stripes will stay in fashion, but they will be narrower. Natural fabrics such as cotton and linen will take pride of place! Another great trend this spring/summer: with your new clothes, it must be pulling season! ;) Time to bring out the big guns, you’re back in business!
