In 1853, a young fabric merchant Bavarian guy called Oscar Levi Strauss lands in the US, hoping to find the American Dream. The gold rush is in full swing, and the miner’s clothes were not very sturdy. The he imports a fabric from Nimes, France with a special weaving, then uses a patent validated in 1872 to rivet trousers’ pockets: jeans are born. Then all miners fight for these XX trousers, lately named “501″ (after a batch of fabric). One can not dissociate Levi’s from the jeans history, and it is the most worn clothing piece today, undoubtedly. Over the past years, lots of afficionados, collectors have asked the brand for old cuts, all washes, for them Levi’s Vintage Clothing was launched.
