Del Toro was created in 2007 by three childhood friends students. When celebrating their diploma, all three wished to customize a pair of velvet slippers with an embroidered logo of their school in commemoration. Problem was, they realised they had to wait a year and pay $900 to get them, so Del Toro was launched. The brand started manufacturing by hand high-range velvet slippers in Spain with a pair called “The Prince Albert”. Each pair has an inscription saying “Suela De Cuero”, meaning “leather sole” in Spanish. Since then, the brand expanded to a full range of shoes: formal models (derbies, oxfords, double monk shoes), boots, and high quality sneakers always featuring quirky details and making Del Toro shoes unique.
