The oldest truckers among you will perhaps remember the interactive map of our favourite fashion destinations in Paris. I wasn’t really satisfied with the way it worked, and I hadn’t had time to finish it, so I ended up leaving it in the garage.

But in the past month, I re-activated it, and I am working on it again to finish it and make it more useful. 3 updates so far:
- The map is linked to a directory (where you can find more information about the chosen store)
- for each store, there is now a link back to the articles in which it is mentioned (you can also find our favourite selections there)
- I added photos of store fronts (I still need to go and snap a few stores…)
That’s it for now! I’ve also got quite a few addresses to add, and I wonder if I might do better in the end making 2 or 3 different maps. Probably for different styles, so that it is more readable and more practical. With the most ‘chic’ addresses separate, for example. What do you think? What about the general features?
Here’s the latest of my 100% British selection from last week. Following the Union Jack tie, cufflinks and trainers: it’s time for the bag!

€13.95 from Blue Lemon (also available in black)

€15.95 from Blue Lemon

£11.99 from Underground

€52.50 (down from 75) on Zine Fashion Store
If you like the style, remember to keep it subtle: choose one item, don’t wear them all together ;-)
My first Lush test
Although Lush offers a special Men’s range (particularly for shaving products), the first product I’ve decided to test is unisex: Brazened Honey. As it’s a fresh mask, you need to keep it in the fridge, for up to a maximum of 3 weeks. It really intrigued me! It really is like no other, whether in its use, its ingredients (honey, kaolin clay, lime juice, fresh spices etc) or appearance.
How to use
This detoxifying mask is particularly recommended for the ‘morning after the night before’ and for tired skin. One pot is enough for at least 4 masks. No question of a delicate dab of the finger, dip your whole hand in and get a big dollop of the good stuff! Put a bit on all parts of your face before spreading it from your neck to your forehead. Let it work its magic for 10 minutes, and then simply rinse it off with water.

My experience
After rinsing off the mask, I immediately felt the benefits: your skin clearly breathes better and your whole face looks brighter…it’s really unbelievable! I’ve rarely tested such an effective product. I’ve since finished the pot (I managed 5 masks in the end) and I really love it! It’s not only made me want to go back to Lush to get more, but to try out new products, too. I highly recommend it! If you’re already a fan of the brand, your recommendations are welcome!

Looking at the weather we’ve been having lately, I thought I’d choose a coat! I have just had a look at Dress-for-less (which I’ve not visited for a while) and I found this one from Tommy Hilfiger.
It’s quite a simple style (straight cut and black) but effective: double breasted, side and interior pockets and lining. And not a bad price for Tommy Hilfiger (hardly more expensive than a Zara coat): €199 from Dress-for-less
I popped into Tonitruand (Paris 6th district) and spotted new styles of Paul Smith shoes that I rather like: boots (-my passion!) and a pair of derbies.

The boots, in lizard-print leather, are called Tony, can be found on the Paul Smith site and are available for €300 from Tonitruand.

My other favourite style is the Taylors, also on www.paulsmith.co.uk, but I like the grey/pink laces version as shown below.

You will also see they do a black style with blue laces. Available from Tonitruand for €240.

Just as bags, scarves and other accessories are no longer the sole preserve of the ladies, and cosmetics are starting to become more accessible to men, men’s jewellery is no different and several trends which began to emerge at the beginning of the summer season are setting in.
Indeed, more than ever this season, the street is inspiring fashion and vice versa, undeniably so; just like in the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Pharrell, the street is becoming gentrified and is taking to flirting with glamour, a sort of bling bling chic is starting to show its face.
And Hoon Paris, created in 2005 by Adrien Haddad, has understood the phenomenon well; it specialises in top-of-the-range streetwear and has already been selling luxury pendants and rings for three years, with just the right ghetto twist: stylish and virile, and whether in gold or silver, it all works rather well!
The only problem is the price: you need to spend at least €300 to have the privilege of wear the aforementioned pendants or rings, so they’re only for those who haven’t yet been hit by the credit crunch…but we can all dream! (Adrien, should you happen to read these words…)

If I say to you, “Dude, you rock!” and you reply “What? What’s the matter?!” I think you can skip to the next article to find your heart’s desire! Because this time, I’m talking about the collection of vintage t-shirts to end them all, one that makes all other t-shirts we’ve ever seen look like something out of your PE kit. Right, enough teasing!
On Worn Free, you can not only find, but also buy official replicas of rock legends’ t-shirts. And when I say legend, I’m not talking about Sir Cliff, but stars who have, for the most part, ended up in the gutter or surrounded by bits of tin foil, and whose music has been the soundtrack to a few wild nights.
You can find the exact replica of the Grunge is dead t-shirt as worn by Kurt Cobain or even John Lennon’s Working class hero classic.
The prices are not too steep, around $40 for a t-shirt (although given the rising dollar, the advice would be buy early, buy often). If you buy wholesale you can get hold of t-shirts at around €35!
