I’m really into white at the moment! White shoes, white trousers, white shirt… I’m just into it! It must be a subliminal desire for purity, spirituality, or some other rubbish! (Or maybe the fact that summer’s coming, I can’t decide!) At any rate, today it’s the belt! But a white belt, of course. It’s made of leather, punched all over, and with a thick buckle at the end with Lowlife engraved on it. Lowlife is a great new English brand that the rockers (and the wannabes) love ;) Belts are their main speciality. You might realise this looking at Lowlifestore, but they’ve since got into other things…
These new Paul Smith “Rabbits” are the latest episode in the “Choosing Trainers for the Summer” series. They’re part of the Jeans collection, and are sort of like Paul Smith’s take on Stan Smiths. And this is what you end up with: trainers with brogue punching on the toe, thin laces, multicoloured stripes and rubber soles (nice little touch: the sole is patterned with hopping rabbits). In short, the “Rabbit” is the perfect mix of comfort and style this summer!
I’ve just realised that this is only the second time I’ve mentioned Kangol. The first time was to talk about this magnificent beanie. To give a bit of background, Kangol is a British brand that’s been around since 1938. They were one of the main suppliers of British army berets during the Second World War. But the brand only became famous in the 80s, thanks to the world of hip-hop, when Run DMC and LL Cool J started wearing it (it feels so good to hear them again!). And Kangol became a big name in headgear.

This is the second half of my report on my field trip to Dress-for-less where I also saw this polo shirt. Polo shirts are in fashion, and all the more so given the bright colour! What more could you possibly want? Some trousers to go with it? What about last week’swhite trousers for example ;-)
I haven’t been on Dress-for-less for a long while now. If you look really carefully you sometimes find nice little items that aren’t too expensive. I found these white trousers from Pepe Jeans. The only problem with white is that a pair of white trousers on a white background is hard to see ;) Has anyone seen them in the shops? They look quite nice.
The next episode in the “how to choose a laptop bag” series. In the first episode I mentioned Acme Made’s Slim Pack). Here is another relatively luxury style from Zegari. It’s made of leather, a classic style with a novel twist given by the contrasting stripes.

This polo shirt is nice! I like the red colour (makes a change), the design (that I can’t quite find words for), and in particular the use of the braces. Now, obviously these ones, with the single strap at the back and the buttons, are quite unusual , but you can always draw inspiration from it and make your own outfit…

They’ve got everything: the low cut, canvas upper, rubber soles, simple but effective! Hmm, maybe a little too basic, actually. What do you think? What do your feet fancy this summer?
